This week, LAS Training and LAS Maintenance had the honor of participating in the European Aviation Training Symposium 2024 (EATS 2024), held at the prestigious Estoril Congress Center. The representation was led by Mónica Teixeira, Training Manager at LAS Training, and Delfim Dores, COO of LAS Maintenance, who shared knowledge and experiences in one of the most relevant sessions of the event: “Challenges for the Future” in aviation training.
A strategic look at the future of aircraft maintenance
The session opened with an inspiring keynote by Hans Mayer, President of the European Aviation Maintenance Training Committee (EAMTC), who highlighted the main challenges and opportunities currently facing the aircraft maintenance industry in Europe.
Following this, Harald Schween from Lufthansa Technical Training addressed a crucial topic: the difficulty in recruiting and retaining talent for aviation maintenance technicians. His presentation emphasized the need to develop innovative and sustainable strategies to manage and maintain a qualified workforce, essential to ensuring the safety and operational efficiency of the sector.
Holistic training for the next generation

To conclude the session, our LAS Training and LAS Maintenance team delivered a presentation focused on a key theme for the future of aviation: training the next generation of aircraft maintenance technicians.
Mónica Teixeira and Delfim Dores advocated for the importance of an integrated training approach that goes beyond just technical aspects, including human factors, emotional intelligence development, and social skills.
This holistic training model aims to prepare professionals capable of combining technical precision with teamwork abilities, effective communication, and handling pressure situations—qualities that are increasingly essential in the aviation sector.
Commitment to innovation and excellence
Participation in EATS 2024 reinforces LAS Training’s and LAS Maintenance’s commitment to innovation in aviation training, keeping us at the forefront of international best practices and technological and pedagogical advances.
We are determined to continue investing in developing resilient, adaptable, and highly qualified professionals, capable of meeting the challenges of a constantly evolving sector.

Thanks and expectations for the future
We thank the organizers of EATS 2024 for promoting such a rich event in content and networking, bringing together the most influential voices in aviation training in Europe.
We are excited to be part of this community again in 2025, where we will continue contributing to expanding the horizons of training and innovation in the aviation sector.
